Students explore dua as worship and relationship, then practice making sincere, specific duas in their own words.

Allah is near

Allah invites people to call upon Him and promises to respond. Dua can include praise, gratitude, repentance, needs, protection, guidance, and concern for others.

Response is not a vending machine

Dua is not a transaction that forces a particular result on a particular schedule. A believer asks with hope, keeps taking responsible action, and trusts Allah's wisdom.

Private and respectful

Never pressure children to announce private fears or family needs. Offer broad prompts and allow silent writing or private dua.

Facts to present

  • Dua is worship: a person calls upon Allah with need, hope, praise, and humility.
  • Allah is near and hears every sincere caller.
  • We may ask for worldly and spiritual good while avoiding sinful requests.
  • An answer may come as what was requested, protection from harm, or reward saved for the Hereafter.
  • Delay is not proof that Allah has ignored a person.
Qur'an 2:186
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِى وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِى لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ

And when My servants question thee concerning Me, then surely I am nigh. I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he crieth unto Me. So let them hear My call and let them trust in Me, in order that they may be led aright.

LEARN BY DOING

Build a balanced dua

  • Write four headings: praise, thanks, request, and others.
  • Pairs compose one respectful sentence for each heading.
  • Invite students to share only what they are comfortable sharing; personal duas may remain private.

Make personal sharing optional. Do not suggest that an unanswered request proves weak faith or a bad person.
