Welcome and hook

Hold up a Qur'an and ask: If this is guidance, what should it help us do—not only know?
ANSWER KEY: Qur'anic guidance helps us know what Allah loves, distinguish right from wrong, worship correctly, and make wise everyday choices.
IF THE ROOM IS QUIET: Read the answer key, then ask students to give one example.

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ

This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil).
WHAT TO POINT OUT: The Qur'an is Allah's revealed speech, sent to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through Angel Jibril.
TIP: Read the English slowly. Students do not need to translate the Arabic themselves.

The Qur'an is Allah's revealed speech, sent to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through Angel Jibril.
It is guidance: Muslims recite it, seek to understand it, and try to live by it.
A surah is a chapter; an ayah is a sign or verse.
Tafsir explains meaning and context; a translation is an explanation of meaning, not the Arabic Qur'an itself.

Draw four signs: home, school, masjid, and online.
Teams choose one setting and name a choice for which Qur'anic guidance would help.
Each team shares its choice and one respectful way to seek the answer.
TEACHER TIP: Model one example first. Keep teams small, invite quieter students without forcing them, and stop with two minutes left for the debrief.
ASK: How is guidance different from simply collecting facts?
LISTEN FOR: Strong examples connect a real choice to worship, honesty, kindness, justice, patience, or another value actually supported by Qur'anic teaching.

ASK: What is the most important idea from today, and how could you use it?
ANSWER KEY: A strong answer should include this idea: The Qur'an is Allah's revealed speech, sent to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through Angel Jibril.
IF NEEDED, START THE SENTENCE: “Today I learned that…”
TAKE-HOME ACTION: Ask a family member which surah they return to most often and why.
