Welcome and hook

Ask: Which shows stronger character—being kind when calm or when annoyed?
ANSWER KEY: Being kind when annoyed shows greater self-control and sincerity, though good character can still include a clear and just boundary.
IF THE ROOM IS QUIET: Read the answer key, then ask students to give one example.

۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ وَإِيتَآئِ ذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱلْبَغْىِ ۚ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

Lo! Allah enjoineth justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbiddeth lewdness and abomination and wickedness. He exhorteth you in order that ye may take heed.

Teach these facts

Akhlaq means character and manners shaped by faith.
Islam commands both justice and ihsan: doing what is right and striving for excellence and kindness.
Good character appears most clearly under pressure and when no reward is expected.
Truthfulness, patience, mercy, humility, and keeping promises are daily acts of worship.
Correcting bad behavior should preserve dignity and open a path to repair.

STEP 5 OF 6

Character freeze-frame

Groups choose a school conflict and create a silent frozen scene.
The class identifies the problem and suggests a response using justice and kindness.
The group replays the scene with the improved response.
TEACHER TIP: Model one example first. Keep teams small, invite quieter students without forcing them, and stop with two minutes left for the debrief.
ASK: Can kindness ever require a firm boundary? Give an example.
LISTEN FOR: The improved scene should stop the wrong fairly, avoid humiliation or revenge, protect anyone harmed, and offer a path to repair.

Check, reflect, and close

ASK: What is the most important idea from today, and how could you use it?
ANSWER KEY: A strong answer should include this idea: Akhlaq means character and manners shaped by faith.
IF NEEDED, START THE SENTENCE: “Today I learned that…”
TAKE-HOME ACTION: Invite the family to choose the same character action and check in once during the week.
