Welcome and hook

Ask: What can you control before a test, and what can you not control?
ANSWER KEY: We control studying, asking for help, sleeping on time, and honesty. We do not control the exact questions, emergencies, or final result.
IF THE ROOM IS QUIET: Read the answer key, then ask students to give one example.

Qur'an 65:3

وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَـٰلِغُ أَمْرِهِۦ ۚ قَدْ جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدْرًا

And will provide for him from (a quarter) whence he hath no expectation. And whosoever putteth his trust in Allah, He will suffice him. Lo! Allah bringeth His command to pass. Allah hath set a measure for all things.
WHAT TO POINT OUT: Qadr means Allah has complete knowledge and decree over creation.
TIP: Read the English slowly. Students do not need to translate the Arabic themselves.

Teach these facts

Qadr means Allah has complete knowledge and decree over creation.
Allah's knowledge does not excuse our choices; people are responsible for what they intend and do.
Islam teaches us to use lawful means, make dua, decide, and then trust Allah.
A result we dislike may contain wisdom we do not yet see.
Do not use qadr to dismiss grief, injustice, or the need to correct a mistake.

Control / influence / trust

Draw three columns: control, influence, and beyond me.
Give scenarios such as grades, weather, friendship, team selection, and illness.
Students place each scenario, then add one responsible action and one dua.
TEACHER TIP: Model one example first. Keep teams small, invite quieter students without forcing them, and stop with two minutes left for the debrief.
ASK: How does tawakkul prevent both laziness and panic?
LISTEN FOR: A sound answer separates responsible choices from outcomes, includes a practical next step, and trusts Allah with what remains outside our control.

Check, reflect, and close

ASK: What is the most important idea from today, and how could you use it?
ANSWER KEY: A strong answer should include this idea: Qadr means Allah has complete knowledge and decree over creation.
IF NEEDED, START THE SENTENCE: “Today I learned that…”
TAKE-HOME ACTION: Use the four-part plan for homework, a game, or another real goal this week.
