ASK: Why can a good deed still matter when nobody posts it or praises it?

Qur'an 2:186—Allah is near

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِى وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِى لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ

Qur’an 2:186 — Allah is near, answers the caller, and calls believers to respond to Him and believe so that they may be guided.

Trial 1: faith under pressure

نَحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ نَبَأَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ فِتْيَةٌ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ وَزِدْنَـٰهُمْ هُدًى

Qur’an 18:13 — They were young people who believed in their Lord, and Allah increased them in guidance.

Trial 2: wealth and what lasts

ٱلْمَالُ وَٱلْبَنُونَ زِينَةُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَٱلْبَـٰقِيَـٰتُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ أَمَلًا

Qur’an 18:46 — Wealth and children adorn worldly life, while enduring righteous deeds are better in reward and hope.

ASK: Does Islam teach that money or children are evil?
ANSWER KEY: No. They are adornments and trusts
enduring righteous deeds have lasting value with Allah

Trial 3: humility in knowledge

فَوَجَدَا عَبْدًا مِّنْ عِبَادِنَآ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا وَعَلَّمْنَـٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّا عِلْمًا

Qur’an 18:65 — They found one of Allah’s servants whom He had given mercy and taught special knowledge.

ASK: What can a knowledgeable person still need?
ANSWER KEY: Mercy, humility, patience, another teacher, and awareness that Allah's knowledge is greater

إِنَّا مَكَّنَّا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ سَبَبًا

Qur’an 18:84 — Allah established Dhul-Qarnayn in the land and gave him means to accomplish his responsibilities.
